Do You Support Someone with Limb Loss? Urgent Renewed Call for Research Participants

You may remember that in March this year we were contacted by Sophie Mitchell, a 2nd year Trainee Clinical Psychologist currently undertaking research related to limb loss at the University of Essex. She is now urgently looking for more participants to help her with this valuable research.

Sophie would like to be contacted by individuals who provide support to a partner, close friend or family member who has lost a major limb as a result of an illness, trauma or accident, to talk about their experiences of coping with the situation.

Interviews will take place on the phone or Skype and will last for approximately 30-60 minutes. All interviews will be strictly private and interviewees will receive a £10 shopping voucher as a thank you for taking part.

If you have suffered limb loss and know someone who’d be suitable to take part, Sophie would be very grateful if you could pass this on to them and urge them to get in touch. If  you act as a supporter as specified  and would like to take part or to find out more information, please contact Sophie at the email address below. You’ve nothing to lose and a £10 voucher to gain – what are you waiting for?!

The results of this research could ultimately benefit amputees as well as their families and carers so please do get in touch.

Contact: For further information or to take part, please contact Sophie on: smitcha@essex.ac.uk
