Many new Events in the Pipeline for DBF in 2017

DBF Foundation

2017, the 35th Anniversary for the DBF, promises to be a bumper year with many new activities planned and in the pipeline.

∗Team Bader (Cycling): Already one great event, The Dambusters Cycle Ride, is under construction thanks to the DBF’s invaluable Ambassador, Wyn Jenkins. The inaugural event took place in May this year and was a huge success. With experience gained from Dambusters Mark 1, Mark 2 is going to be bigger, better and even more enjoyable if that’s possible! More information and dates for that, and other cycling events, will be published early in the new year.

∗Team Bader (Music): We’re proud to announce that a new Team Bader venture – Bader’s Big Band – is taking shape. Musicians, please contact us if you’d be interested in taking part.

∗Bader Braves: New activities including Sailing and Go Karting, the return of our ever popular Young Aviators Days featuring both old favourite and new venues, and a return to our old friends at Calvert Trust are all to be announced.

∗Bader Grants: 2016 has been a brilliant year for Bader Grants with more applicants than ever being helped to achieve an extraordinarily diverse range of personal goals and 2 special grants awarded in Joan Bader’s honour.

∗BILL: has continued to provide information, advice and support on Limb Loss and we’re working hard on creating a Forum worthy of it. (We are aware of the shortcomings of the current system and can only apologise to those of you who have been frustrated and disappointed by it. Things will improve in 2017…..)

Other news: The Inspiration Newsletter is being reinstated and will be arriving in your inboxes before Christmas. (Please contact us if you’d like your email address to be added to our mailing list for this. We promise you won’t be bombarded with other stuff!)

And finally…..Keep checking in – there’s loads of exciting things to follow. After all, we’re very proud and delighted to have achieved almost 35 years of helping amputees and others in Sir Douglas Bader’s memory and a 35th Anniversary is something to celebrate!! Please join us.
