Stumps and Cranks – A Beginner’s Dream is the must-have book for all new amputees or amputees contemplating taking up cycling for the first time.
Designed to be read by adults and older children or families it sets out the basic elements of equipment, instruction and points of general care and attention advocated by cycling and health professionals who deal with such aspects on a daily basis.
Calling all Amputees! Here is your chance to discover the joy and fun of cycling. A book especially for amputees who have been thinking about cycling but have been too nervous to try yet.
The benefits of sport and fitness for amputees are well known and, in a bid to get more amputees up and pedalling so that they can experience those benefits, the people behind this great book want to raise £4,000 to be able to donate 500 books to hospital limb centres and amputee organisations throughout the UK.
You can donate through JustGiving by following this link:
Amputees often have reduced mobility after they lose a limb and they may find the process of adjusting to limb loss exasperating. Cycling is considered to be a highly beneficial activity for amputees to help them during rehabilitation.
