Our Adventure Challenges help youngsters affected by limb loss to gain confidence and make friends.
Attending one of our Adventure Challenges or Adventure Weekends can have a profound effect on a young person affected by limb loss or other disability. As well as benefiting the child, these adventure challenges offer families and carers the joy of spending time with other families in similar situations.
With the experienced and caring assistance of The Calvert Trust we have run successful and thoroughly enjoyable Adventure Weekends in Kielder Forest and Exmoor. Most children gain confidence from taking part in exhilarating and challenging activities but our Braves, who are quite often missing one or more limbs or living with other disabilities, have so much more to gain. The satisfaction and sense of achievement they feel when they are participating successfully in the same activities as their able bodied peers and siblings in a safe and supportive environment is wonderful to see.
New Adventure Challenges for 2020
2020 will see a change in the way we offer our Bader Braves Adventure Challenges. The DBF is delighted to have teamed up with ‘Over The Wall’, a leading activity provider. This partnership will enable us to offer more Adventure Challenges through a variety of camps run and hosted by ‘Over The Wall’. With more dates and venues to choose from we feel sure that you will find something to suit you.
