The Dambusters Cycle Ride 2017 will be held on Sunday 14th May and is going to be even bigger and better than the inaugural event last year!
2016’s themed ride was a resounding success and, for those of you who managed to miss it, you can read about it HERE! We were fortunate enough to be blessed with a wonderful day last year and hope that clear blue skies and ideal cycling conditions will prevail again in 2017.
As in 2016, there will be two routes of 55 and 35 miles (both themed to mark the occasion) and riders and spectators can expect even more surprises along the way this year!
There will be three food stations on the course and hot food at the finish at Coleg Sir Gar, Gelli Aur. There will also be a memento of the day to take away with you.
Entries have just opened on the British Cycling Website and will be limited to 300 so, if you’re a member of the British Cycling Federation, be sure to sign up early if you want to secure your place.
We will provide regular updates and for now you can also keep up to speed(!) by checking on the dedicated Dambusters Cycle Ride Facebook Page. (Be sure to check out the great video by Osian Rees to whet your appetite!)
We are extremely grateful to DBF Ambassador and cycling enthusiast, Wyn Jenkins, for organising this event which will benefit the DBF and CMC Llandeilo Cycling Club, (check out what this wonderfully inclusive and supportive Cycling Club is up to HERE), who have themselves, been staunch supporters of the charity for many years.
We’re hoping that several of our Ambassadors and other friends will by taking part this year so even if you’re not planning to cycle, why not put the event in your calendar and come along to meet and support the DBF team?
