Douglas Bader Foundation – Returning Wounded Flying Day
In association with and hosted by The Moray Flying Club
Kinloss Barracks, Forres, Morayshire, IV36 3UH
Saturday 27th June 2015
This is the first event designed specifically to offer service personnel suffering injury sustained whilst on active service the opportunity of experiencing the thrill of flying and operating a light aircraft provided by The Douglas Bader Foundation.
Our friends at The Moray Flying Club, with whom we have established a long association as hosts of one of our Bader Braves Young Aviators events in Scotland, have generously made their aircraft, facilities and hospitality available for this very exciting day. The object is to introduce wounded or injured service personnel to the world of aviation, not just as an experience but offering the opportunity of developing a new interest in light aviation.
Today you will have the thrill of flying in one of the MFC aircraft from Kinloss Barracks, formerly RAF Kinloss – former home of the now defunct Nimrod Squadrons – where the intricacies of controlling and flying the aeroplane will be revealed; not only that but you will fly over the wonderful scenery around the Moray Firth. The day is fully funded by The Douglas Bader Foundation including a buffet lunch and we are hoping that visits to the Moravia Nimrod exhibit will be available as well.
To ensure your place on this fantastic opportunity make sure that you register today as places are limited and filling fast!!
