Power2Inspire Charity Founder and Chief Ambassador, John Willis, who was born without fully formed arms and legs, has been taking to the river throughout this month to undertake a 108-mile kayak paddle from Cricklade to Eton Dorney in the Power2Inspire 108 Challenge.
John has been joined throughout the challenge by members of the community, fundraisers, celebrities and sports stars to help him as he kayaks along the River Thames raising vital funds for the charity.
Companies, schools, universities, charities, care homes and the public have been encouraged to get involved by taking part in their own “#108Challenge”.
Sadly, and I’m ashamed to say, we have only just come across the information about this very worthy venture but feel it’s never too late to raise awareness of such a positive event and will hope to give follow up information once John reaches dry ground!
I am extremely excited to be taking on my biggest challenge yet – and I hope the public can get involved by taking on their own 108 challenge. After recently beginning my training, I can safely say I will be pushing myself to new limits! John Willis, Founder and Chief Ambassador
You will find more information about the Power2Inspire 108 Challenge on their Website but given the late coverage of this event, it may be too late to participate in any way other that donating this time! There is a JustGiving link on the website and access also at the bottom of this post.
Meet John and his team at Bisham Abbey on 28th July
John will also be visiting Accessible Boating Thames at Bisham Abbey tomorrow evening (Friday 28th July) before paddling off on the next leg of his journey towards Eton Dorney on Saturday morning. Anyone in the vicinity could head along to meet John there and cheer him in or out. I’m sure he’d be delighted to receive your support!
Check out the wonderful explanatory video on their website where John will explain all about the 108 Challenge. You will find the link at the bottom of this post. Please do support John and Power2Inspire if you can.
