Want to try para snowboarding?

Do you want to try Para Snowboarding?

We’ve been contacted by Alastair Nasmyth, the Para Snowboard coach for Snowsport Scotland and GB Snowsports. He is keen to promote a multi sport programme running in April and May in Scotland this year.

The hope is to introduce children with disabilities into snowboarding so that they can experience all the benefits that board sports have to offer.

Board sports are a great way of enjoying the outdoors while also benefitting your mental and physical health. Alastair Nasmyth

If you want to try Para Snowboarding and other board sports, are aged between 11-18 inclusive, ambulant and don’t require assistance, why not check out the possibilities offered in this pilot…

Hello

Snowsport Scotland is piloting a scheme to get disabled children into snowboarding through a multi sport programme of board sports and acrobatics. Board sports are a great way of enjoying the outdoors while also benefiting your mental and physical health. They help the participant to develop good balance and co-ordination whilst also promoting mental strength and perseverance. The time table for the pilot program looks as follows:

  • Snowboarding April or May TBC

Snow Factor, Glasgow

  • Surfing 1st May

Dunbar, East Lothian

  • Skateboarding 8th May

Loading Bay, Glasgow

  • Acro/Tricking 15th May

Loading Bay, Glasgow

The pilot will hopefully lead to school holiday programme over a longer period of time.

Participants must be aged between 11-18 inclusive. Due to limits on the number of staff available and the nature of the activities we are currently only able to offer this programme to those who are ambulant and don’t require assistance. The price for the pilot is £260 per person. Please contact to register your interest or to find out more information.

Thanks
