The Douglas Bader Foundation was very happy to be able to support former army medic Nerys Pearce in her bid to become the fastest disabled female racing driver in the world.

The DBF provided a Bader Grant to enable Nerys, who is paralysed from the chest down after being hit by a car, to buy a bespoke seat insert which will assist her in achieving this ambitious dream.

I am keen to hear from anyone interested in supporting this very ambitious challenge – let’s make racing history together and inspire other disabled women to achieve beyond their wildest dreams. Nerys Pearce

Nerys’s next race, also the last of the season, will be at Snetterton on Sunday 1st November. All at the DBF will be rooting for her.

Not content with one challenge, this inspirational woman is also waiting to swim The Channel!  Her first attempt was cancelled due to high winds so she is currently awaiting the call for the next one…
